Legendary Teena Marie passed at age 54

I know the entire world is as deeply saddened as I am about the sudden news of Teena’s death. I know for myself I thought it was a rumor so I had to do my research for sure. No one expected Teena to go so soon; she just released an album not long ago and I thought was working on new music appearing to be in good health, at least that’s what we on the outside looking in thought.
With not many details about the death of Teena Marie surfaced, the world is left in awe knowing that she was found Sunday morning, Dec. 26th by her 19-year-old daughter Alia Rose, who just celebrated a birthday over the weekend. Her manager Mike Gardner confirmed her death and stated her body was at the coroner’s office after allegedly dying in her sleep. Stated also was that the singer suffered a seizure last month.

Teena Marie was known for her classic hit, “Lovergirl”, but one that will never be forgotten is her duet with her Casanova Brown himself, the late Rick James. Marie released 13 studio albums, in which six went platinum. They all were timeless and will live on forever in her memory. Many celebrities have posted their condolenses on twitter followed by CNN analyst Roland Martin’s tweets posted announcing the singer’s death yesterday evening. With a voice like the wind and skin that’s ivory, but a soul that’s ebony, Teena you are one in a million.
