2008 American Music Awards: Winners, Performances, Press Room, Backstage, Audience, and Red Carpet Glam
The 2008 American Music Awards has to be one of the best award shows, but simply because it represents just what I represent, diversity! Might I add that they’ve done a great job at doing just that. The AMAs aired yesterday on ABC at 8pm. I was shocked to see that it was 3 hours long. Most only last no longer than 2 and maybe 15 minutes then they carry on to the post show. Much kudos to the staff or anyone that had anything to do with putting this years’ show together. Out of the 19 performances, I have my favorite or those that I felt were better than others. There were several appearances last night and a great amount of proud award winners. Performances included artists like Taylor Swift, Pink, Christina Aguilera opened, Kanye West closed, Beyonce, Rihanna, Leona Lewis, Miley Cyrus, and many more.

Queen Latifah
U-N-I-T-Y! Queen Latifah did her thing as a surprise performer alongside Alicia Keys “Superwoman”. I don’t remember the last time I saw Queen perform or even rap and sing for that matter! That was real cool.

Mariah and Nick are beautiful and she performed as well, Nick excorted her on stage and reached to kiss her hand and she snatched away jokingly.

Her performance was a little confusing to me and I was a little disappointed mostly because she didn’t perform my song “Angel”, but overall it was a good performance.

Rihanna did her thing! I loved it, but I was looking for Justin Timberlake to come out at any time! I can definitely relate to the lyrics to “Rehab” as well. Hearing her sing it live was even better….
Kanye West
Kanye’s performance was different and colorful!
